Splake Hunter Champions 2014

We braved the elements and we were rewarded with some of the largest trout we ever caught! Hope to see you all again next year... well maybe a little less of you Tight Line! :)

1st Place Trophy Winner!

Strider wins first place for landing a massive 19.75" monster Trout! Very well done!

2nd place winner

Tight Line wins the 2nd place prize for his 19.25" Laker which he caught off shore of our site on a bobber!

3rd Place

3rd Place goes to the Brent Giant for his 16.5" delicious Brookie!

Most Fish Caught

This year it's Jake the Snake who captures the trophy and prize in the 'Most Fish Caught' category! Well Done!

Not this time Tight Line

Despite his best efforts, Tight Line couldn't land a trophy fish this year... we did have two massive bites in mid lake though, so the monster trout are still out there!

Yes Strider is the victor this time. We will not under estimate his abilities in the future.

Stinger loves the relentless freezing wind off the lake so much he wrote a song about it... ask him and he'll sing it for you. Here he is waiting for applause after belting out a rather troubling verse.

Everyone has a different tolerance for the cold... Dr. O apparently can't feel anything below his ears.

The cold winds lasted throughout the night, but the following morning the sun came out...just a bit.

We almost limited out in 3 minutes at our 'not so secret' location. The next day Strider will land the trophy fish nearby.

Winds off the lake

The rain finally stops, leaving us with a steady cold SW wind. The fire must be fed constantly or the half soaked young ones may begin to complain... Strider was shaking so bad in the bow that Wrong Way thought there was something wrong with his canoe.

It's a fast start for the competition, even Tight Line can barely believe his luck!
